Artsbridge – Call for Submissions

The Uxbridge Arts Association is revising its newsletter magazine ARTSBRIDGE into a richer source of information for its diverse readership by expanding its size, content, and coverage. As the prominent voice of the UAA, which aspires to be the conduit for delivering news, issues, and arts-related information for the multi-dimensional Uxbridge arts community, the newly expanded format of ARTSBRIDGE will be more widely distributed, showcasing the vibrancy of our artistic gems to those in surrounding areas, as well as our own.

Performing arts, film, photography, various visual arts, sculpture, music, literature, or any other aspect of ‘the arts’ represent an important role in the wholeness of our arts family. Should you know (or are) someone with an angle to be showcased, with arts news, an up-coming show, book-release, or any other arts-newsworthy recognition, we are here to spread the word. Additionally, if you have a particular issue or topic of interest that should be covered in ARTSBRIDGE, please forward details.

We are looking to connect with any local writers who might be interested in an opportunity to have work published in ARTSBRIDGE in one of two capacities: one being a platform to showcase short stories or poetry, and the other to accept a short assignment to cover a local story. We are keen to give exposure to additional literary works that exceed space within the magazine itself, by publishing them on the UAA website. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in earning a publishing credit, or looking to expand their present portfolio of published work.

Additionally, if there are any visual artists, photographers, or sculptors that would like to submit an image to be considered for publication in either the magazine or website, we welcome your query.

Musicians, film-makers, or performing artists who would like to have a sampling of their work showcased on the website or for possible future exposure through a UAA multi-media supplement, please reply with a text e-mail only, describing your work.

Children/Youth: ARTSBRIDGE will also feature work (all media, including literature) showcasing aspiring talent amongst our youth. Submission inquiries welcome.

Anyone interested in making a submission for consideration should make an initial text inquiry first. You will then be given further details on how to proceed.

DEADLINE for ‘queries’ for the new ARTSBRIDGE fall issue is August 22, 2008.
