The CCM Story

Guest Author and Historian John McKenty
presents ‘Canada Cycle and Motor: The CCM Story’

Uxbrige HIstorical Centre Schoolhouse, 7239 Concession Rd. 6, Uxbridge
May 23, 2013 7 pm

Join us to hear author and historian John McKenty, a retired educator and Perth resident, relate the history of cycling and the CCM Company, a topic he wrote about in his book Canada Cycle & Motor: The CCM Story. “With its skates in winter & bikes in summer, CCM was as much a part of the Canadian psyche as the seasons themselves. The CCM Story traces the company’s history from its formation in 1899 until its demise in 1983. While its story brings together some of Canada’s most prominent businessmen, legendary hockey figures and little-known hoodlums, in the end, it is those who worked the factory floor that are called upon to try and save the company.” Copies of John’s book will be available for purchase. All are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be available. Admission by donation.
