Clay-Sculpting and “Gifts of the North”
June 30, 2012, 10am-2:30pm, Cost $15
Kids will learn all about the stories and folk history behind the exhibit “Gifts of the North”, and create their own sculpture using modeling clay. A great opportunity to make some fun art, and learn about the amazing culture and history of Northern Ontario. Bring a picnic lunch. Ages 9-12.

Beginners’ Sketching
July 14, 2012, 1pm-4pm, Cost $15
Learn beginners’ drawing techniques for portraits, landscapes, still life, and more. This class will be taught on the museum’s scenic grounds and in our heritage buildings for inspiration. Participants will bring home all of their new artwork. Taught by a talented local art student. Ages 12-15.


Beginners’ Acrylic Painting
July 28, 2012, 1pm-4pm, Cost $15
Uxbridge Historical Centre is hosting a Beginner’s Acrylic Painting Workshop, for youth ages 10-15 who are interested in learning the basics of acrylic painting this upcoming Saturday July 28th from 1-4pm. Participants will learn beginners’ acrylic painting techniques for portraits, landscapes, still life, and more. They will practice their painting on the museum’s scenic grounds and in our heritage buildings, and bring home their painted canvas’. This class is being taught by multi-talented local art student Anne-Marie Muller, who also recently taught a fantastic Beginner’s Sketching Workshop for us, and whose artwork is currently on display at the Museum.

There are still spots available in our Beginner’s Acrylic Painting Workshop, happening this Saturday (28th). The cost is only $15. If anyone would like to sign their child/youth up for this program they need to call/email the Historical Centre by Friday afternoon to pre-register so we can buy the proper amount of supplies.
